Este martes 26 de noviembre se reunieron con el Comodoro Escrich en la sede del Club Náutico Internacional Hemingway de Cuba dos miembros de La Sociedad Náutica de Marsella, la Señorita Olga Sterkhova y Dennis Wilford. Durante el encuentro el Comodoro hizo un breve resumen de la trayectoria de nuestra institución náutica fundada el 21 de Mayo de 1992, oportunidad que aprovechó para hablar de los estrechos lazos que nos unen con la Sociedad Náutica de Marsella y destacó que ella fue una de las primeras instituciones de la comunidad náutica internacional que extendió una mano de amistad y colaboración a nuestro Club Náutico. El Señor Wilford y su compañera Sterhova serán agasajados con un cocktail de bienvenida el día 6 de diciembre ocasión en la que serán presentados a los embajadores de Bélgica, Francia y Egipto así como a miembros de nuestro club de nacionalidad francesa. RECEIVES COMMODORE ESCRICH MEMBERS OF THE MARSEILLE NAUTICAL SOCIETY

This tuesday november 26th two members of the Nautical Society of Marseille, Miss Olga Sterkhova and Dennis Wilford, met with Commodore Escrich at the headquarters of the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba. During the meeting the Commodore made a brief summary of the trajectory of our nautical institution founded on May 21st , 1992, an opportunity that he took advantage of to talk about the close ties that unite us with the Nautical Society of Marseille and stressed that she was one of the first institutions of the international nautical community that extended a hand of friendship and collaboration to our Yacht Club. Mr. Wilford and his partner Sterhova will be entertained with a welcome cocktail on December 6th, when they will be presented to the ambassadors of Belgium, France and Egypt as well as to members of our French nationality club. In these times it is a true fortune to be able to enjoy friendly meetings between human beings who love the sea

SEDE EL CNIH DE CUBA DE CURSO DE PATRÓN DE EMBARCACIONES DE RECREO

Como parte de su objetivo de contribuir al fomento y desarrollo de la navegación de recreo en Cuba, el Club Náutico Internacional Hemingway de Cuba es sede del Curso de Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo que imparten profesores del Instituto Marítimo Pesquero “Andrés González Lines”.
Este curso, de dos años de duración, se realiza en cumplimiento del Acuerdo de Amistad y Colaboración firmado, el 12 de junio del 2018, por el Ing. Raúl Bobadilla González, Director del Instituto Marítimo Pesquero “Andrés González Lines” y el Lic. José Miguel Díaz Escrich, Comodoro del Club Náutico Internacional Hemingway de Cuba.
Además del Curso de Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo, el año pasado, profesores del mencionado Instituto impartieron un curso de marineros.



AT HEMINGWAY INTERNATIONAL YACHT CLUB OF CUBA TAKES PLACE A COURSE FOR SKIPPERS OF RECREATIONAL BOATS 

As part of its objective of contributing to the promotion and development of recreational navigation in Cuba, the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba is host to the Recreational Boat Skipper Course taught by teachers of the Maritime Fisheries Institute “Andrés González Lines”.

This two-year course is carried out in compliance with the Friendship and Collaboration Agreement signed, on June 12, 2018, by Mr. Raúl Bobadilla González, Director of the Maritime Fishing Institute “Andrés González Lines” and Lic. José Miguel Díaz Escrich, Commodore of the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba.
In addition to the Recreational Boat Skipper Course, last year, professors from the aforementioned Institute taught a sailors course.

En horas de la tarde de este viernes 15 de noviembre, vísperas del 500 Aniversario de la Villa de San Cristóbal de La Habana, el Comodoro Escrich recibió, en la sede de esta institución náutica cubana, al Sr. Timo Nurmilaukas, Comodoro del Helsingfor  Segelklubb.

Al Club Náutico Internacional Hemingway de Cuba y al Helsingfor Segelklubb los unen estrechos lazos de amistad y colaboración refrendados en el Acuerdo de Amistad y Colaboración firmado el pasado año.

La visita del Comodoro Nurmilaukas contribuirá a continuar fortaleciendo las relaciones de amistad entre los dos Yacht Clubs.

In the afternoon of this Friday, November 15th, on the eve of the 500th Anniversary of the Villa de San Cristóbal de La Habana, Commodore Escrich received, at the headquarters of this Cuban nautical institution, Mr. Timo Nurmilaukas, Commodore of Helsingfor Segelklubb .

The Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba and Helsingfor Segelklubb are joined by close ties of friendship and collaboration endorsed in the Friendship and Collaboration Agreement signed last year.

The visit of Commodore Nurmilaukas will contribute to continue strengthening the relations of friendship between the two Yacht Clubs.

ENJOY THE MEMBERS OF THE CLUB ABUNDANT FISHING ON HAVANA COASTLINE
During the month of November, the members of the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba have enjoyed productive days of fishing along the Havana coast, with the capture of blackfin tuna and some wahoo (bib in Cuba). The latter season is about to begin and these species are captured a few hundred meters from the coast of the capital of Cuba that this November 16th arrived at its 500 years of foundation.

Durante el presente mes de noviembre, los miembros del Club Náutico Internacional Hemingway de Cuba han disfrutado de productivas jornadas de pesca a lo largo del litoral habanero, con la captura de atún de aleta negra y algunos wahoo (peto en Cuba). La temporada de estos últimos está por comenzar y esta especie es capturada a escasos cientos de metros del litoral de la capital de Cuba que este 16 de noviembre arriba a us 500 años de fundada.

CONCLUYEN LAS ACTIVIDADES DEL PROGRAMA “POR LA HABANA, EL MÁS GRANDE SALUDO DESDE EL MAR”

THE ACTIVITIES OF THE PROGRAM “FOR HAVANA, THE GREATEST GREETING FROM THE SEA”, CONCLUDE
With the closing, at the headquarters of the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba (HIYC of Cuba), of the XXXIII Ordinary General Assembly of the International Federation of Maritime and Naval Leagues and Associations (FIDALMAR), in which maritime and naval leagues and associations participated from Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Bolivia, Colombia, Curaçao, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Spain and the HIYC of Cuba, concluded the activities of the program “FOR HAVANA, THE GREATEST GREETING FROM THE SEA” prepared by the HIYC of Cuba to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Villa de San Cristóbal de La Habana.
From November 18th, 2018 to this November 1st ., the Yacht Club made nautical parades, regattas, rallies and nautical exhibitions along the Havana Malecon, exhibition of naval modeling and sailing and motor racing of naval models, at the headquarters of the HIYC of Cuba, and academic events such as “Havana and the Sea in its 500 years”, which featured a keynote lecture by Dr. Eusebio Leal Spengler, Historian of Havana, and in which 32 papers by historians and scholars from Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Cuba were presented and in which her excellency Mrs. Stella Bezirtzoglou, Greece's ambassador to Cuba was included entitled: “The Greek participation in Cuban maritime traffic”.
The topics related to “Havana Port” were included in the Colloquium. History of its strategic-military evolution and the Spanish defensive system ”,“ Havana and its contribution to the culture of the sea in Cuba ”and“ Havana Bay and its new challenges: environmental and tourism ”.
During the year, the HIYC of Cuba hosted two regattas and a rally from the United States; St. Petersburg - Havana and the Conch Republic Cup Regattas and the Key West - Havana Rally. The coast of Havana was the scene of 5 nautical parades “500th Anniversary of Havana” and two editions of the Torreón de la Chorrera Regatta. The HIYC of Cuba made a special contribution to the “ Little Princess of the sea” Aquatic Carnival, held in Havana bay, which earned it the Grand Prize of that event.
"Future Sailors Workshop", had a special significance, it was organized by the National Aquarium of Cuba and the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba. More than 200 children received, during the holiday period, sailor classes taught by patrons and sailors of the HIYC of Cuba.



CONCLUYEN LAS ACTIVIDADES DEL PROGRAMA “POR LA HABANA, EL MÁS GRANDE SALUDO DESDE EL MAR”
Con la clausura, en la sede del Club Náutico Internacional Hemingway de Cuba (CNIH de Cuba), de la XXXIII Asamblea General Ordinaria de la Federación Internacional de Ligas y Asociaciones Marítimas y Navales (FIDALMAR), en la que participaron ligas y asociaciones marítimas y navales de Chile, Perú, Uruguay, Bolivia, Colombia, Curazao, México, Rep. Dominicana, España y el CNIH de Cuba, concluyeron las actividades del Programa “POR LA HABANA, EL MÁS GRANDE SALUDO DESDE EL MAR” desarrollado por el CNIH de Cuba para celebrar el 500 Aniversario de la Fundación de la Villa de San Cristóbal de La Habana.
Durante las jornadas de trabajo, que se extendieron del 27 de octubre al 1 de noviembre, los delegados de la XXXIII Asamblea General Ordinaria de FIDALMAR fueron recibidos en empresas y entidades del sector marítimo portuario y por autoridades y personalidades, las que fueron condecoradas con la más altas distinciones de FIDALMAR, consistentes en medallas de oro y de plata.
Desde el 18 de noviembre del 2018 hasta el 1ro. de noviembre actual, el Club Náutico realizó paradas náuticas, regatas, rallies y desfiles náuticos a lo largo del Malecón habanero, exposición de modelismo naval y regatas a vela y a motor de modelos navales, en la sede del CNIH de Cuba, y eventos académicos como “La Habana y el Mar en sus 500 años”, que contó con una conferencia magistral del Dr. Eusebio Leal Spengler, Historiador de La Habana, y en el que fueron presentadas 32 ponencias de historiadores y estudiosos de Argentina, España, Portugal, Cuba y en la que se incluyó la de la Excma. Sra. Stella Bezirtzoglou, Embajadora de Grecia en Cuba titulada “La participación griega en el tráfico marítimo cubano”.
En el Coloquio se incluyeron, entre otras, las temáticas referidas a “El Puerto de La Habana. Historia de su evolución estratégico-militar y el sistema defensivo español”, “La Habana y su aporte a la cultura del mar en Cuba” y “La Bahía de La Habana y sus nuevos retos: medioambiental y turístico”.
Durante el año, el CNIH de Cuba fue anfitrión de dos regatas y un rally procedente de Estados Unidos; las regatas St. Petersburg – Havana y la Copa República de la Concha y el Rally Key West – Habana. El litoral de La Habana fue escenario de 5 paradas náuticas “500 Aniversario de La Habana” y dos ediciones de la Regata Torreón de la Chorrera. Especial contribución realizó el CNIH de Cuba al Carnaval Acuático “Princesita del Mar”, organizado por el Gobierno de la capital y celebrado en la bahía de La Habana, lo cual le hizo acreedor del Gran Premio de ese evento.
Especial significación tuvo el “Taller Futuros Marineros”, organizado por el Acuario Nacional de Cuba y el Club Náutico Internacional Hemingway de Cuba. Más de 200 niños recibieron, durante el período vacacional, clases de marinería impartidas por patrones y marineros del Club Náutico Internacional Hemingway de Cuba.

THE PARTICIPATION OF CHILDREN GROWS IN THE HEMINGWAY INTERNATIONAL YACHT CLUB OF CUBA
SAILING SCHOOL
With the incorporation of new students, the Sailing School of the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba continues to teach the exciting sport of sailing. The instructors Rogelio Paris and Yohandry Amador feel very happy about the progress of the children participating in the classes. Until now, students have preferred Saturdays to receive classes, but they can be taught by instructors every day of the week.

The Sailing School is also open to adults who wish to delve into the necessary skills to drive a sailboat. Our Yacht Club has several cruise ships available for them.



CRECE LA PARTICIPARIÓN DE NIÑOS EN LA ESCUELA DE VELA DEL CLUB NÁUTICO INTERNACIONAL HEMINGWAY DE CUBA
Con la incorporación de nuevos alumnos, la Escuela de Vela del Club Náutico Internacional Hemingway de Cuba continúa adelante en la enseñanza del apasionante deporte de la navegación a vela. Los instructores Rogelio París y Yohandry Amador se sienten muy felices de los adelantos de los niños que participan en las clases. Hasta el presente, alumnos han preferido los sábados para recibir las clases, pero las mismas pueden ser impartidas por los instructores durante todos los días de la semana.
La Escuela de Vela está abierta también a los adultos que deseen adentrarse en las habilidades necesarias para conducir un velero. Nuestro Club Náutico tiene a disposición de ellos varias embarcaciones de vela crucero.
